ABOUT ME

Ulli Hinrichsen, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Florida Board Certified Licensed Psychotherapist. She is a graduate from Florida Atlantic University where she received her BSW and MSW. Invested in ongoing professional growth, she is also an EMDR therapist and continues her postgraduate training with the international psychodrama trainers Antonia Garcia and Dale Buchanan.

Ulli's professional career in the field of Social Work began in Germany in the early 1980s obtaining her State Diploma of Education and based on Social Pedagogy, Developmental and Social Learning Theory. As Educator, she worked with children, teens, and parents in the field of School and Adventure Pedagogy, including at-risk populations. Her professional background and expertise comprise family-systemic work with special focus on socio-economic factors impacting family dynamics and child socialization; homelessness affecting women with children; chronic and severe mental health issues; providing therapy to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, as well as to the general counseling population. Agency settings she worked in include one of Broward County's largest behavioral health care provider, a transitional housing program for homeless women with children, a Florida Department of Health recognized sexual abuse treatment program in West Palm Beach, and an outpatient diversion program in Fort Lauderdale.

In the past, she participated in the Human Trafficking Working Group of Palm Beach County with the goal to increase awareness in the community about the local and global social problem of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, and to link resources to make services accessible.

Ulli is a practical, interactive, solution-oriented therapist. Her treatment approach is to meet clients in the here-and now, provide support and practical feedback to help clients develop new perspectives, change thought processes and behavior patterns, and acquire new coping skills, all benefiting a person's emotional experience with self and others. Seeing clients in a holistic context, she integrates complimentary methods and uses an eclectic approach. With sensitivity and compassion, she works with each client to help them build on their strengths, identify and achieve goals, and enhance lives through effective changes.
